I have been very fortunate to have been raised by an amazing mother who taught us how to cook the most incredible Lebanese food! All natural, made from scratch and full of flavor. She was and always will be the best cook I’ve ever known. She cooked for our family with all the love she had. I was also blessed thirty years ago to have my amazing mother in law who taught me to cook some of the best Italian food!
A shout out to my mother in law , Mary Torregrossa, your eggplant pinwheels are our best seller on the Italian menu. Everyone is loving them and I’m grateful and proud to make them just like you showed me.

Our Story

Since I was young, my dream was to have my own restaurant.

In 2009 I approached my two brothers, Tony and Eddie, who live in NYC and had been in the food industry for over 25 years to help me achieve my dream. In 2009, we opened our restaurant in Mystic, CT and my dream became a reality. Our restaurant was called “The Pita Spot.``

My goal was to serve our mom’s traditional Lebanese recipes made from scratch, just the way my mom prepared and cooked for our own family. The Pita Spot became a great gathering restaurant for locals and tourist alike. Our restaurant was voted one of the top restaurants in mystic by The Day, and received many other recognitions and awards such as; Connecticut Magazine's best middle eastern, best vegetarian and Trip Advisor rated the restaurant #1 in Mystic for 7 consecutive years.

As of 2019, we decided to change our concept to a Freshly Prepared Food Market. “Vivian’s Mediterranean Market” is the result of that new direction. Today, our goal is to continue to serve the same made from scratch Lebanese cuisine that we were known for, freshly prepared daily and conveniently packaged for our customers to pick up. Everyone’s favorite dishes are now available to enjoy in the comfort of your own home.

I’ve been blessed to have my wonderful Italian mother-in-law share some of her own family recipes with me. It’s an honor to cook a 100-year-old recipe, passed down through the generations. Our newly added Italian menu is inspired by these treasured family recipes.

At Vivian’s Mediterranean Market, our Lebanese and Italian creations are made from scratch and prepared in the same traditional way my parents taught me. Made fresh daily and never frozen.

Our Mission is simple. Create delicious food from natural and fresh ingredients, handmade from scratch and prepared the the old fashion way with love. We hope you enjoy!
